How long will it take to receive my finished edits?

It can take anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks, depending on the complexity of your video and the level of production required. Remember that quality takes precedence over speed, and you have come to me for professional results. I will help you understand what to expect on production day, and assist in planning details by providing professional insight. Once filming is complete, I will focus my efforts on the detail oriented task of cutting and editing your footage into highly polished, and emotionally effective videos. For commercial projects, standard allowance is 6 weeks, unless project scope establishes an abbreviated delivery window.

How do you handle footage following the event?

If you do not opt to add in raw file delivery to your packages, files will be stored on my drives until you have received completed edits. Once the final edits are delivered, copies of the finished files will be stored long term. The raw files (the un edited footage from every SD card) may however be deleted from my drives after 90 days. If you are interested in retaining raw files, be sure to include this option at the time of booking. Raw pricing varies according to the nature of the production, whether commercial or personal in nature. Commercial footage that can be used to create future revenue is generally more expensive if we transfer copyright ownership to you. When it comes to wedding films, we generally do not offer RAW file add ons, primarily because all of the best footage is already included in your edits. Additionally, we often capture wedding days in flat picture profiles that require editing software and knowledge to convert to a normal looking image. Rather than deal with raw footage, you should consider paying for additional edits or upgrading to a highlight and documentary edit to ensure you get all meaningful video footage in a professionally edited package.

How long will my wedding edits be?

Length and number of edits will vary depending on the scope of your project. These details and requirements will be established during our discovery calls. Final stipulations will be laid out in the contract, including Pre production and post production, day of services, deliverables and terms.

How do you capture audio throughout the event?

Audio is 50% of the viewing experience. Beautiful images paired with poor audio equates to a terrible video. We deploy multiple methods in capturing clear audio for your content. For weddings, we utilize on-camera shotgun microphones, lavalier microphones on speakers, audio recorders on any house mics, and we capture sound from the DJ booth (where applicable) to ensure we get multiple backup sources. In commercial applications, we can use lavalier mics on speakers, or boom a professional shotgun microphone over you to capture crisp, bright vocal tones. All of these measures help to minimize the possibility of poor vocals, and boost the overall quality of your finished videos. Post processing of audio will apply noise reduction, reverb correction and EQ balancing.

What are the benefits of using drone footage on our video project?

Drone filming has quickly become a popular form of photography and videography. This is because drones are versatile tools that allow for creative and innovative shooting angles that would otherwise not be possible. Additionally, drone footage can capture scenes or moments that you would never be able to achieve from the ground. Some of the benefits of using a drone include: capturing video or photos from difficult-to-reach positions, getting aerial shots without hiring expensive film crews and equipment, flight over sensitive areas, time-lapse and hyper-lapse videos that show gradual changes over time. How do you capture clean, usable footage in low light situations?

When it comes to filming in low light situations, having the tools and knowledge to overcome environmental limitations is key. I utilize large sensor cameras with very bright lenses. While these tools cost a premium, they ensure that I get the cleanest images possible. I can also shoot in special video formats that allow our cameras to record a wider range of lighting values, which results in higher quality imagery. I also utilize off camera lighting to ensure speeches, dances and other major moments are properly exposed. I apply these extra efforts with you in mind, and it allows me to produce the highest quality video possible during your event.
